I am not sure how I feel about the news of Charlton Heston's death. It is kind of shocking. I mean he is such a revered actor and Gun Toting badass that I don't really know how to feel. He brought life to the roles that he portrayed on film and probably took the life of many people by encouraging more people to own guns.
What do you guys think?

what many people do not know is that charlton heston got his ass kicked a lot.
he was always asking people if they 'wanted tickets to the gun show'.
nobody took the time to listen to the fact that he was offering tickets to an actual gun show. the "gun show" line has become so played out that heston was often mistaken for a smart ass and beaten within an inch of his life.
this may have even led to his death.

Well, it's one less NRA advocate to worry about.
Also, I hear what Goolax is saying, but we certainly can't overlook Heston's masterful narration work in Cats & Dogs.
Reid, as a fervent (albeit creepy) proponent of animal rights, you should be quite familiar with this film and Heston's impeccably pleasing baritone.
As difficult as it is to say, at a risk of being exposed, Charlton Heston was a man of integrity, in addition to a great actor. His advocacy of the NRA and gun rights was heartfelt. Remember that he was defending the second amendment. Guns don't kill anyone, it is bad people that kill people.
I agree that Guns don't kill people, bad people kill people.
Yet, if there are more guns out there, then people are more likely to turn to them when they have a dispute.
IF people were only allowed to have sporks as weapons, sure there would still be death, but I don't think there would be as much. Cause really, its hard and I mean HARD to kill someone with a spork. Yet, it can be done
Whether it's people, animals, or tin cans, the sole purpose of a gun is destruction. Period. There is absolutely no just cause for owning a gun. If people want a thrill, go to amusement parks more often.
Anyone who knows his/her Bill of Rights know that the Second Amendment is extremely ambiguous in regards to who has the right to bear arms. I'm getting a little tired of people hiding behind some archaic government document (which doesn't even explicitly say private citizens have the right to gun ownership) as justification. It used to be "our right" to own slaves too, but clearly that wasn't such a good idea...
